HUD’s 7th Annual Women-Owned Small Business Outreach Event

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) invites you to participate in the hybrid 7th Annual Woman-Owned Small Business Outreach Event at the HUD Headquarters Building in Washington, DC and virtually. The plenary session will be open to virtual participation. Only on-site attendees will have an opportunity to meet with key HUD staff and contracting personnel to discuss their capabilities and learn about upcoming potential procurement opportunities.

HUD strives to create an inclusive environment for all, including individuals with disabilities. If you would like to participate in this event and would like to request a reasonable accommodation such as a sign language interpreter, please ensure that you select and indicate the accommodation in your registration information. For accommodations to be processed, please complete your registration as early as possible, preferably no later than two weeks prior to the start of the event (March 1, 2024 ).

IDENTIFICATION:

HUD Headquarters Building Visitors 18 years of age or older are required to have a valid U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID, this includes visitors from U.S. Territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.) Expired documents are not accepted.

  • Driver’s license or identification card issued by a state or outlying territory of the U.S., provided it contains a photograph or information such as name. date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address.
  • Driver’s license or other state photo identity card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) that meet REAL ID requirements.
  • U.S. passport
  • U.S. passport card
  • DHS Trusted Traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
  • U.S. Military ID
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Border Crossing Card
  • DHS-designated enhanced driver’s license
  • A Native American Tribal Photo ID
  • An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan)
  • A foreign government-issued passport
  • Canadian provincial driver’s license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Identification card issued by a local government (including county or city) containing a photograph, name, and expiration date.

Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards. Those who do not should be carrying their passports.

What are my transportation/parking option for getting to and from the event?

METRO:

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is conveniently located at L’Enfant Plaza Metro Stop (on the Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange or Silver Line). Please proceed to exit the Metro station towards L’Enfant Plaza Mall Concourse. Once you get off the Metro escalator, make a left to exit the Plaza. The Department of Housing and Urban Development will be the building directly in front. You will need to walk around to the front of the building to enter. Please enter the building through the South Lobby, which is the side closest to 7th and E Street.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO HUD HEADQUARTERS:

From the Northeast: Take I-95 South to Route 50 West toward Washington, DC. Follow Route 50 past where its name changes to New York Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Street, NW. Continue on 7th Street. The building will be on your right at the corner of 7th and D Street SW.

From the South: Take I-95 North to I-395 North. Follow I-395 North to D Street SW in Washington. Take the 12th Street exit from I-395 North. Use the right lane to take the 12th Street exit toward L’Enfant Promenade. Keep right and merge onto D Street SW. Continue on D Street to 7th Street and the building will be on the right.

From the West: Take I-66 East and follow the signs for Constitution Avenue. Continue on Constitution Avenue to 14th Street, NW and turn right. Continue on 14th Street to the third traffic signal and turn left onto Independence Avenue. Continue on Independence Avenue to 7th Street and turn right. The building will be on your right at the corner of 7th and D Street SW.

From the Northwest: Take I-270 South to the Capital Beltway/I-495 towards Virginia. Continue on the Capital Beltway across the American Legion Bridge into Virginia. Take the first exit after the bridge for the George Washington Parkway South towards Washington. Continue on the George Washington Parkway to I-395 North. Use the right lane to take the 12th Street exit toward L’Enfant Promenade. Keep right and merge onto D Street SW. Continue on D Street to 7th Street and the building will be on the right.

PARKING:

Some garage parking is available at L’Enfant Plaza, 480 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024. To walk, proceed to exit parking garage towards L’Enfant Plaza Mall Concourse. Once you enter the L’Enfant Plaza Shopping and Dining area proceed towards the metro station. Once you go through the glass doors (next to Potbelly) make a right to exit the plaza. The Department of Housing and Urban Development will be the building directly in front. You will need to walk around to the front of the building to enter. Please enter the building through the South Lobby, which is the side closest to 7th and E Street.

There are limited public lots and limited off-street parking by HUD Headquarters so plan accordingly. Please enter the HUD building through the South Lobby, which is the side closest to 7th and E.
