The agency that manages D.C.’s affordable housing programs has a new head.
Nicole Wickliffe was named executive director for the District of Columbia Housing Authority after a unanimous board vote on Sept. 16. Her appointment began Thursday, DCHA announced.
Wickliffe had served as interim executive director since April. She replaced Keith Pettigrew, who left the month prior to become the CEO of the Chicago Housing Authority, reportedly to the surprise of public officials in his old and new places of work.
In DCHA’s release, board Chair Raymond Skinner said the board “has every confidence in DCHA’s future” with Wickliffe at the helm.
Wickliffe joined the agency as its deputy executive director at the end of 2023, after serving as deputy director for the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
“It is a privilege to serve as DCHA’s leader,” Wickliffe said in a statement. “I am proud of the progress made in recent years – which is a direct result of the dedication and drive of our resident leaders, DCHA staff and many others.”
She said she looks forward to strengthening DCHA’s partnerships with the mayor’s office, D.C. Council and other stakeholders.

Bozzuto is moving its longtime Prince George’s County headquarters north. The development and management firm announced this week that it has inked a lease for 58K SF at Maple Lawn, a 605-acre mixed-use community in Howard County. It expects to move 225 employees to the Greenebaum Enterprises and St. John Properties-developed community in the first quarter of next year.
The landlord was represented by St. John Properties’ Bill Jautze, and Bozzuto was represented by CBRE’s David Fields and Charlie Carroccio, as well as Stream Realty’s Lou Christopher.
