Leidos has been awarded a $2.7 billion Army contract to advance hypersonic weapons from prototyping to production.
The contract unifies the Thermal Protection Shield and Common Hypersonic Glide Body programs to accelerate development and delivery in line with Army acquisition reform efforts. Leidos has been prime contractor on the Thermal Protection Shield since 2021 and the Common Hypersonic Glide Body since 2019.
The company brings expertise in guidance systems, sensor technologies and precision munitions integration to the effort, supporting the Army’s hypersonic capabilities and integrated air and missile defense.
