Top GSA leaders meet with CEOs of small to mid-sized businesses and industry associations to discuss challenges, successes of working with federal government
WASHINGTON– Today, the U.S. General Services Administration Deputy Administrator Katy Kale welcomed leaders from small and mid-sized businesses and other organizations, including those from underserved communities, to GSA headquarters to provide input and feedback on challenges they face and strategies for success as federal contractors. Also present were Krystal Brumfield, Associate Administrator, Chief Acquisition Officer, Office of Government-wide Policy, and Exodie C. Roe III, Associate Administrator, Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization, and other senior leaders from GSA, Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), and the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).
As part of its Equity Action Plan, top GSA leaders discussed GSA’s ongoing work to advance equity in federal procurement. This effort builds on the Biden-Harris Administration accomplishmentsto increase marketplace participation rates and the amount of federal contracting dollars awarded to small businesses, including those from underserved communities.
The discussion highlighted federal tools and best practices that contribute to company success, how the government can contribute to that success, and what challenges and opportunities they see in federal contracting. Topics included new efforts between the federal government and small businesses, expanding contract opportunities for underserved communities, and more.
