CGI’s state and local business will work to modernize Virginia’s child support systems under a seven-year, $83 million contract with the state’s social services department.
The company will help the state retire its decades-old mainframe system by using CGI’s Transcend for Child Support platform. Partners on the contract include Salesforce and Snowflake.
Virginia’s Department of Social Services wants to reimagine how families are served, said Craig Burshem, deputy commissioner of state programs at VDSS.
CGI’s goals are to simplify processes, streamline forms and bring more automation to expedite the time it takes families to receive support.
