DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\nEvent lasts 8 hours\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis Department of Defense-focused workshop provides detailed instruction on preparing a proposal to meet the requirements of the DOD\, including both technical and commercialization plans and navigating the submission process. \nPresented by DOD SBIR/STTR expert\, Monique Branham\, the program will also cover: \n\nSBIR/STTR program basics and up-to-date information on the DOD program\nAn understanding of the differences between DOD components\nTips on how to identify a topic\nThe importance of talking to Technical Points of Contact during the pre-release period\nHow to register and utilize the DOD SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal\nWriting to meet the reviewers’ expectations.\nCommon pitfalls and how to avoid them\, and more!\n\nFunded in part through a Cooperative Agreement between VIPC and the U.S. Small Business Administration. \nAbout the Instructor: \nMonique Branham is a BBCetc Principal Consultant; she joined the company in July of 2021. She has 22 years of experience in the DOD. She joined the United States Air Force in 1999 and has an M.B.A in Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. While in the Air Force\, she served as a Quality Assurance personnel of government contracts and a Resource Management Officer. Monique moved to the Air Force Space and Missile System Center (SMC) and became the SBIR/STTR commercialization expert. Monique’s work was instrumental in finding leveraged funding from government\, academic\, and private sectors and writing intricate transition management plans led to the successful commercialization of SBIR topics that are currently operating on the International Space Station. Monique garnered leveraged funding for commercialization for over 20 SBIR topics. Monique has received awards from SMC for Innovation and leadership. Monique has an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force. \n

DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, August 16\, 2024\, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Housing invites you to participate in the hybrid FY 2025 & 2026 Procurement preview event at the HUD Headquarters Building in Washington\, DC and virtually. The plenary session will be open to virtual participation. Please enter the building through the South Lobby\, which is the side closest to 7th and E Street. \nDRIVING DIRECTIONS TO HUD HEADQUARTERS: \nFrom the Northeast: Take I-95 South to Route 50 West toward Washington\, DC. Follow Route 50 past where its name changes to New York Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Street\, NW. Continue on 7th Street. The building will be on your right at the corner of 7th and D Street SW. \nFrom the South: Take I-95 North to I-395 North. Follow I-395 North to D Street SW in Washington. Take the 12th Street exit from I-395 North. Use the right lane to take the 12th Street exit toward L’Enfant Promenade. Keep right and merge onto D Street SW. Continue on D Street to 7th Street and the building will be on the right. \nFrom the West: Take I-66 East and follow the signs for Constitution Avenue. The conference will provide businesses\, both new and experienced\, access to information on the laws\, rules\, and regulations that govern the SDVOSB Program.
