DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, June 19\, 2019\, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) is hosting Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Outreach Event at the HUD Headquarters Building in Washington\, DC. The conference will provide businesses\, both new and experienced\, access to information on the laws\, rules\, and regulations that govern the SDVOSB Program. Additionally\, businesses will have an opportunity to meet with key HUD staff and contracting officers/specialists to discuss their capabilities and learn about upcoming potential procurement opportunities. Also\, in attendance other Federal Agency partners\, representatives from some of HUD’s prime contractors and supporting organizations. \nSDVOSB vendors are highly encouraged to participate; however\, this event is open to all businesses. \nHUD strives to create an inclusive environment for all\, including individuals with disabilities. If you would like to participate in this event and would like to request a reasonable accommodation such as a sign language interpreter\, please ensure that you select and indicate the accommodation in your registration information. The building will be on your right at the corner of 7th and D Street SW. \nFrom the South: Take I-95 North to I-395 North. Follow I-395 North to D Street SW in Washington. Continue on the George Washington Parkway to I-395 North. Use the right lane to take the 12th Street exit toward L’Enfant Promenade. Keep right and merge onto D Street SW. Its mission is connecting budding and existing entrepreneurs to resources for venture management and growth. \nIn 2006\, EDAC launched W.O.M.E.N. (Women Owned and Managed Enterprise Network) Conference to meet the growing demand of women seeking small business services\, knowledge\, and access. Today\, W.O.M.E.N. serves as a network of resources that support women in developing and retaining competitive enterprises. \n W.O.M.E.N. Conference is a power-packed day of workshops and sessions designed to energize and invigorate budding and existing women business owners. W.O.M.E.N. is a source of inspiration and support that connects and empowers women around the District\, Virginia and Maryland region\, helping them to realize their potential and reach new heights. The conference features interactive workshops\, networking\, resource fair and awards ceremony. W.O.M.E.N. brings together the voices and insights of a diverse range of women leaders from the worlds of international business\, health\, beauty\, government and technology. \n This year W.O.M.E.N. will unveil its first cohort of The Power of 10\, business planning in action. Participants will receive ongoing support to leverage the knowledge and expertise of EDAC’s resources to create a year long action plan for their business. The aim of Power of 10 is to continue building the ecosystem of women entrepreneurs.
